About Charlie Fowkes

I have had a passion for drawing since a young age and can always remember having an active imagination and very weird sense of humour.

I have a first class hons illustration degree from Derby University, completed in 2002.  Since then I have been working freelance 'trying' to make a name for myself in Children's Illustration.  I have completed various projects such as Random House, 'Astrosaurs', Harper Collins 'Harry the Clever Spider', Reading Corner Phonics 'Fix the Sink' and in 2008 I have my first children's picture book 'Bubble and Squeak, The Great Cheese Hunt (Anova), which I have written and illustrated myself.

As well as illustrating I teach art and design at a local college and university (I am always busy!) Other than illustrating and teaching I love walking my two dogs, Minni and Tillie.  Sailing, swimming and driving my 1972 VW beetle.
